MIT Club of Southwest Florida presents: "What’s Going on in (Generative) AI?"

MIT Club of Southwest Florida
Cordially invites you to

"What’s Going on in (Generative) AI?"
with Professor Aleksander Mądry

Professor Aleksander Mądry will speak virtually on April 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM. He is one of the leading AI researchers at MIT. Professor Madry recently testified to Congress about how artificial intelligence tools are being used by corporations.

The incredible progress on artificial intelligence (AI) over the past decade has turned yesterday's sci-fi dreams into today's (almost mundane) realities. So, just what is today's cutting-edge AI capable of? What's been driving its rapid evolution? In this talk, we will dive into these questions. We will also discuss the impact this technology has on our world and society, and what we can (and should) do to ensure this impact is a positive one.

Prof. Mądry received a Ph.D. from MIT in 2011. He then spent a year  as a  postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research New England, following which he was on the faculty of  École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne until early 2015.  He then returned to MIT. He is currently on leave from MIT and spending it at OpenAI.
