Joseph is completing a dual major in History and French. Last summer, our Club helped underwrite field research in Paris for his 60-page senior thesis titled "By Any Means Necessary: The Violence of the French OAS (Secret Armed Organization) in the Algerian War for Independence". 

Joseph will discuss his findings and conclusions, based largely on primary and secondary sources found at the Bibliotheque Nationale Paris and in the French National Archives. Many of the archives were recently declassified leading to new discoveries and a deeper understanding of this troubled time in France's history  (15-minute talk, followed by Q & A on the subject and on today's undergraduate experience at Yale).
